My name is Michael Arther and I am currently a senior at Newtown High School in Newtown, CT. I have always had a great appreciation for the sciences. Whether it be physics or biology, my curiosity about science has always lead me to ask questions and explore connections regarding how science relates to human life and behavior. The brain has always been an interest of mine, especially when looking at it through a social lens. Researching how environmental and social factors cause changes in the brain is key to understanding why people commit violent acts. Being a part of The Avielle Foundation allows me to pursue my interests in this field, while serving a great cause. I am currently the President of my class and I am very active in both school and community. Giving back has always been very important to me and I hope to continue doing this with The Avielle Foundation. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, watching sports (go Giants!), and hanging out with friends.
